Pure Adventure- Developing a universal concept of Outdoor Education- by Mr Colin Mortlock

Adventure, in its broadest sense means going forward, accepting positively that life will always be a journey with a degree of uncertainty. In a way, outdoor education itself is an unclear concept and it often means different things to different people at different times. How can we make sense of a universal concept of outdoor education individually and collectively? This workshop will examine the importance and challenges of developing a common, fundamental belief about self, others and the environment so as to help us address wider global issues. Participants in the workshop will be involved in both theory-based discussions and practice-based activities to explore the concept of pure adventure.
